Standardising Cross-Team Workflow
One repeatable process, adopted by every account
Global enterprise services account + International marketing agency, Europe, US and APAC
Every account team coordinated its work differently. Nothing was wrong with any one of them, but nothing transferred — briefs lived in inboxes, status lived in people's heads, and anyone moving between accounts started again from nothing.
Nobody had asked for this to be fixed. I reviewed how the accounts were actually running and proposed the standard.
- Proposed the standard — this was not assigned work
- Designed one repeatable workflow covering intake, briefing, status and handover
- Built it in the tools already licensed, so adoption cost no new budget and no new training
- Rolled it out account by account until every account was running on it
Looked at how work actually ran
Not how the process said it ran. The gap between the two was the brief.
Designed one workflow
Intake, briefing, status and handover, in a shape that survived being copied.
Used what was already licensed
No new budget, no new tool to learn, nothing to justify to procurement.
Rolled out account by account
Not all at once. Each one made the next easier to argue for.
Stayed past the first month
Which is when new work arrives and tests whether the standard holds.
Ran on
